Three Mile Beagles wishes to advance the beagle breed in both hunting quality and "standard" quality according to the AKC registered attributes.  We carefully breed our dogs and bitches after their traits have proven consistent and worthy.

My name is Christopher Double.  I have been a hunter my whole life and started to pursue my interest in hunting with hounds around the year 2000 with my wife, Mary Hagan Double.  We got our first beagle, a male, and I trained him myself as a house dog and hunting companion.  One thing led to another, we ended up with a female, and the rest is history!  

Since then we moved out to the country in Northwest Pennsylvania to live closer to the land and give my dogs the opportunity to run all of the time.  Through trial and error, and a lot of learning from more experienced beagle owners and handlers, I have created a system of raising and training beagles.  

Nothing compares to the sound of a young hound opening up for the first time on a fresh rabbit track!
